The horological press is really a captive industry. The MWM (Mainstream Watch Media) are all dependent on access to Big Watch. They need the Swatch Group and Rolex and whoever else to spot them review models and grant interviews and they know that if they say what they really think about a watch and it’s not sunny and positive, they won’t get their hands on the next model.
So the MWM outsources all of the honesty to their comments sections.
